"Sewer Service Meter" Challenge - Terms and Conditions

City Meter's "Sewer Service Meter" challenge criteria:

  • Measures sewer flows from 0 to 10 gallons per minute with an accuracy of +/- 2%.  Measurable flow range from 0 to 15 gallon per minute (+/- 4%)
  • Measures partially filled sewer pipe flows.  Does not require full pipe flows
  • Requires no external power and no battery changes for over 20 years

The "Sewer Service Meter" Challenge:  Be the first to tell us of a commercially available wastewater flow meter capable of meeting or exceeding all three of the above criteria and we will pay you $250.

In order to claim the payment, you must provide:

  • Your name, email and mailing address
  • Contact information for a commercial vendor for the product.  The product must be purchasable by City Meter.

A product specification sheet detailing each of the above required criteria or a letter from the vendor or manufacturer detailing the product meets or exceeds the above criteria.

Terms and Conditions:

A single payment of $250 will be made to only the first person who:

  • Makes a complete submission with all of the information required above.
  • Submission meets all three "Sewer Service Meter" criteria above.
  • Submissions will be processed in the order recieved. Post marks or time stamps will be used to determine the first submitter.
  • City Meter, Inc. shall evaluate all "Sewer Service Meter" Challenge submissions and shall be the sole judge of applicability and eligibility of all submissions.
  • The "Sewer Service Meter" Challenge will immediately terminate upon the first determination that a submission meets all of the "Sewer Service Meter" Challenge criteria.
  • All submitters will be notified in writing of the status and determination of the submission made within 30 days of the submission date.
  • Any meter submitted to be considered must be capabable of metering raw sewage for a period of at least one year. The use of strainers, grinders, settling tanks or other ancillary devices is not acceptable for the purpose of this challenge. Meter proposed must be viable for use as a long term sewer service meter.
